Port Sudan, May 23, 2024

Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief, praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s government and people for their support of the Sudanese people and their humanitarian aid efforts since the start of the war. This support has been provided through air bridges to voluntary and humanitarian organizations.
During the launch of the distribution of medical equipment to hospitals affiliated with the Patient Aid Fund, Jaber expressed Sudan’s gratitude to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for its outstanding services, which have positioned it at the forefront of humanitarian efforts.
He commended the center’s approach to providing support, assistance, consultation, and coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Patient Aid Fund. The center ensures that the medical equipment meets required specifications and oversees their receipt and distribution in collaboration with the Saudi Embassy in Port Sudan.
Jaber expressed his hope that other organizations would follow the example of the King Salman Center in supervising and monitoring the provision of humanitarian and relief services.
He noted that dialysis machines would be distributed under the center’s supervision across six states, while pediatric hospital equipment would be allocated to two states. Additionally, an oxygen generation station would be delivered to El-Obeid Hospital, a referral hospital serving several states.
Acting Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim stated that this was the second time in less than a month that Sudan has received medical equipment from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. He described the center’s service projects as significant due to their developmental impact across various sectors.
Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, Ali Hassan bin Jaafar, emphasized his country’s commitment to providing all necessary assistance to the Sudanese people and continuing to dispatch convoys and air bridges until Sudan regains its former stability. He expressed his hope for security, peace, and stability to prevail throughout Sudan.
